I need help connecting my Sky+ box to my LGRHT387H DVD recorder and Sony Tv. Has anybody got any ideas please. Below is a picture of the scarts available.
There is also an HDMI socket on the Tv and recorder.
At the moment I have HDMI between Tv and recorder so I can watch any of the films I have stored on the recorder hard drive. I also have a scart lead from the Sky+ box to the Tv so I can watch Sky (freeview only) as I don't subscribe to Sky.
What I want to be able to do is record programmes available through the Sky box onto the recorder hard drive for viewing later.

No I haven't, forgot about that, thanks. I have checked out different websites but all the suggestions didn't work.:( I'll go and try Youtube:D

I discovered loads about fixing laptops, washing machine and numerous other problems on youtube, it's great that information like that is free to view and saves on expensive repair bills :)

So near and yet so far ... if you had a Humax freeview box I could look up my diagram from when I hooked ours up two years ago. Best of luck with yours anyway :bookworm:
*edit* You might be wanting a technophile, not a phobic ...

Have you tried this:

Connecting to the AV2 DECODER jack

If you disconnect the unit’s mains lead, you will not be able to view the signals from the connected decoder. Connect a VCR or similar recording device to the AV2 DECODER jack of this unit. You do not need to turn on the unit to view the signals from the connected tuner on your TV. To watch or record the source from AV2 DECODER jack, set [AV2 Connection] option to [Others] (see page 18) and set [AV2 Recording] option to [Auto], [CVBS], [RGB] or [SVideo] as required (see page 21).

I think you need to connect via old style arial to record as SCART or HDMI sends codes that stop the recorder from recording (or it used to do!)

I'm still struggling to fix my Betamax .....

You always used to be able to do AV2 Scart out of a sky box to the video recorder, so there should be no reason why that wouldn't work on a dvd recorder. HDMI does block recording though.
