Any thoughts on this study: IF with early eating to prevent diabetes?

The title caught my attention, but it seems like an unusual diet. Time Restricted eating 8am to noon a few days a week.

I don’t think I could manage that.

In many people's lifestyles, it would be difficult to accommodate, IMO. I IF but I go with what my body wants, which is not to eat until lunchtime, often later, and to eat an evening meal. That way I have a good chance of sleeping (I have a lousy sleep pattern) and I can socialise in a food environment if I choose. Others may find the schedule indicated in the above trial more to their liking.

I believe in going with my body not fighting it. Much more likelihood of sticking with a particular regime that way.

It sort of makes sense though if you could manage it. Getting the fuel in early, when you're most active then giving your body 20hrs to use it and get into fat burning when your insulin levels fall.
As apposed to eating your main meal early evening when your day is mostly done and your energy needs are less.
I too have no appetite in the morning, usually don't even think about food until late afternoon. But I think that would probably change if I hadn't eaten for 20hrs. My biggest problem would be fitting in with the rest of the family.

Long before my diagnosis i inadmittedly ate like this often, i still find if i have a mahoosive cooked breakfast, i don't need to eat again that day. The classic is going on holiday, we always plan to stop for breakfast where they do all you can eat. Believe me on those occasions they definitely lose money where i'm concerned.
