Morning everyone. Feeling slightly deflated this morning in that it seems a case of solve one problem get another at the moment.

So the last 2 days I have gone carb free at breakfast and for the last 2 do had the same issue rising levels. Despite having no carbs both days I injected 2 units of Qa as correctional and to cover the small carbs I consumed I. e 7.

For breakfast I had scrambled eggs sausage mushrooms and tomatoes.

My thoughts are there is a gap with Levemir running out and delay in morning Levemir kicking in? The lack of Qa insulin causing levels to rise.

So any thoughts on ways to tackle. Increase night insulin? Go back to carbs at breakfast? Or should am I missing some carbs in what I am eating?

@Hattonma, when eating no-carb, eggs give most of us a fairly significant rise (I need about 1-1.5u per egg) Sausages, unless 95% meat, also contain carbs (usually 8g or so per sausage), so they need bolusing for.

With regard to the basal, when do you do it, and how much? If you only do an am shot, then it's highly likely that you will see that running out.

The majority of type1's going carb free and substituting with fat and protein tend to find they actually need more insulin than they would for a carb containing meal. Toms and sausages tend to have carbs as well even if not that many.

Have you tried doing a basal test and seeing what happens with your blood sugars?

Firstly, you may have a dawn phenomenon going on.
Secondly IMO Libre tends to exaggerate the highs and lows ( I think there is a bit of **** covering going on - what happens when you fingerprick?)
You may need to increase your levermir slightly, but I would just tend to increase your rapid acting for breakfast. You are injecting rapid in stomach?
