Hi there. We are going to be spending a year in Greece soon (complicated reasons), & I would really love to hear from someone based in Greece how the health system manages T-1. We’ve been based in denmark, & here it’s managed out of the regional hospital. They organise annual checkups, tho you can ask for an appt if things arise, & eye checkups are every two years. I have osteoporosis as well, so periodic dexa scans. But the GP doesn’t really handle it.

It probably affects where we should look to stay.

Input much appreciated.

Lucy

Just upping this again. No Type
s in Greece?

Hi - I'd guess there are plenty of T1s in Greece, but as this is an English language forum, they are unlikely to be on here. I have no relevant experience or knowledge myself, and off-hand can't think of anyone on the forum who is T1 and Greek, or with enough experience in Greece.

tagging a couple of T1s who have been around a while:

@EllieM @Antje77

I'm sorry, I'm of exactly zero help here, I only know our Dutch healthcare system (and quite a bit on the NHS through this forum).

Hopefully this might help ( if you have an account on instagram ) one of my diabuddies lives in Greece.
his account is

diabetes_greece

and i am sure he will reply to you if you message him on instagram

Thank you so much @himtoo. I’ll contact him. And very nice to see you again after all these years. Hope things are going well.

Really appreciated.
