Anyone considering a breast augmentation procedure?

Hey. I am considering a breast augmentation in Toronto. Has anyone undergone this procedure before? Will there be any side effects? Which implant is better - silicone or saline? Is this procedure recommended for diabetic patients?

I will be perfectly honest, I would not consider any surgical procedure that wasn't absolutely essential for my health, but that's just me I know. But as a diabetic, if not perfectly controlled you may be slower to heal and more likely to scar. And every op has risks, even cosmetic surgery. Also, I have seen a great many breasts in my lifetime and breast implants, viewed naked, are as often as not a disaster, with bad scarring around the nipples, nipples looking cross eyed, not level, and lying down breasts with implants look totally un-natural like they've been plonked there like a sand pie!

Learn to love the breasts you've got, get yourself to Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park and learn to love your body! That's my advice.

My moobs are big enough already, without getting them enhanced :D

Seriously, though, there are various increased risks for diabetics in any surgery, as already mentioned by previous posters, so you need to weigh up the risks and benefits before going ahead. I am by no means an expert on the subject, but I was under the impression that silicon implants pose various risks in terms of leakage, and they're not very favourably regarded nowadays?

I suspect that the expertise and reputation of the clinic concerned is absolutely key: a reputable plastic surgeon will discuss everything with you thoroughly, make sure that you really want an enhancement, talk you through the risks and options and make sure that you don't end up with a botched job. Try and find somewhere that will do the job you need - which may not necessarily be the job you think you want - rather than the job that will make them the most money.

It's easy to say that you should learn to love your body as it is, but a lot of women have had a boob job and are much happier in consequence, so I would be the last person on earth to say "don't do it", but I would say "think carefully before you do it".

I agree with AtkinsMo,
Breast augmentation surgery has several incision, and it can cause serious problems for a diabetic.

I think the media distort what people should value and advertise plastic surgery with celebrities. Just look at female singers and actresses, most of them did at least one cosmetic surgery to look more beautiful.
Many psychologists suggest these surgeries are direct results of lack of self-confidence.
I talked to many men, and most of them hate fake plastic boobs. Some of them told that it's disgusting for them to touch a breast while knowing it's fake and made of silicone!!!
So just think by yourself and make a decision with a clear mind.

okra. Cigarette smoke, old, new, and permeating a room, wafting from a balcony, etc etc. That I have so many chronic diseases. That I take so very many meds. Being cold. Anything too loud, but specifically non-classical music and the television.
I know you are completely serious, but to get a laugh I'll tell you that losing weight (plenty of it over a couple of years) gave me back my 27-yr-old breasts...... six inches below where they were .... :hilarious: But I am so pleased bc I have never been a fan of cleavage lol.

People whose attitude says "Me, my opinion, my desire is greater and more important than anyone else"

And to whom the principle of ahimsa is a closed book that they refuse to open because it would make life more difficult for them.
My husband and adult son both say that touching fake boobs is like handling a beach ball, and just about as sexy. Having said that, my sister had it done years ago and was more than happy with the result so it's horses for courses.

I've had major surgeries and there is no way I would willingly undergo another surgery unless it was vital for my health. My recovery from each was slow, difficult and very painful and I still have areas of my abdomen which are totally numb some 10 years later.

I'm not exactly a well-endowed woman (more your athletic build) but I have always said that what I am is fine by me. I fed my son and that is what the **** things are for when all is said and done. My husband said he doesn't give a toss what I look like - he loves me, not the outer candy coating.

My mom got one and they look great. She was initially a small A and is now a generous B. I'm a small A as well and I'm really considering it. Sometimes I just don't feel feminine enough. I really should embrace them as they are but it's a challenge for sure
