Anyone else get migraines?

Daisy1.
I've never tried acupuncture to prevent them. I'm of the opinion that used to treat an existing migraine it may be effective, it was for me! But getting access to it during an episode is nigh on impossible.

Interestingly enough, as the years have gone on, the nature of my migraines have changed. I used to get the same early warning signs which then changed and were very sporadic. I remember one awful one that left my daughter and granddaughter in a car she couldn't drive, by the side of a B road in November whist I was blue lighted in to a hospital in a city none of my family had even been to! That one started with an absolute crushing fatigue. It wasn't tiredness, I just felt that I absolutely couldn't support my bodyweight. Stupidly, I got in the car to drive home.
Now, it's more like a trigeminal pain that if I don't treat early enough, will turn into the dreaded attack.

I really get a lot of support and comfort from hearing other peoples stories. Make me feel like I'm not alone! And I hope my experiences can help others.

I've had another migraine earlier :( Took a sumatriptan and went to bed, was sick once but after i'd been asleep for an hour it had gone. I phoned the Drs earlier as when i was discharged from hospital on Tuesday the hospital pharmacy wouldn't let me have anymore tablets and i only had 4, so i went to the Drs with my discharge letter. I was told they would ask the Dr and to ring today as a scrip should be ready for me. It's not. Got told my letter had only just gone on screen and i probably won't be able to get any tablets, and that's if the Dr lets me have them, until early next week. I only have 2 left now so am hoping and praying i don't need them.

Don't be afraid of making a noise and getting what you want. Migraine is still generally misunderstood and is often seen a a headache attached to an over-reaction.
If it were any other condition that HAD to be controlled by drugs, those drugs would soon make an appearance.
If necessary, call the out-of-hours doctors, got to A&E or stand in front of the receptionist until something is done.

Thanks Wiflib. Yes, a lot of people, including myself until now, don't realise that migraines are a lot more than just a bad headache and what an impact they have on your everyday life. If i need to, i will call out of hours. Off to have a sight test in a bit just incase i need glasses and that is having an effect.

Claire have you found that now you are a moderator you are spending a lot more time online? If Im online a lot I get terrible eyestrain and pain (similar to migraine but without the throbbing) around my eyes.
