Anyone else got Brain Lesions & 6th Nerve Palsy?

Hi, I have been recently diagnosed (Jan 2011) after suffering with double vision and an MRI confirmed that I have multiple vascular brain lesions. The double vision was due to intercranial pressure diagnosed as 6th nerve palsy. I have been borderline diabetic for 2-3 years so now have been put onto oral medication - albeit a lower dose than other diabetics I know. I had one appointment with a neurologist and was discharged as they said it was diabetes. Only last month, I had problems with my eye again - tender and painful to move and have now been re-referred to a neuro-optomoligist. The concern was my age! Doctors said that be brain shouldn't be like this until I was in my 70s. Diabetes nurse at my own surgery and eye casualty doctor at hospital do not think this is due to diabetes as would normally only be an affect of very long term uncontrolled diabetes. Would be very interested to hear from anyone who may have these side effects as well. Everything is so new and up in the air to me and it is a big worry.

Hi Kizi, and welcome!

I feel for you - what a situation to be in! - but can't help with the brain/eye things at all. However, you have come to the right place for help and support with your diabetes, so have a good look around and don't be afraid to ask questions - we'll be glad to help.
