Anyone else got this mega cold and bloods are up up up?

Had it a few weeks ago. First one since before pandemic. Needed lots of extra insulin, won the battle in the end. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
 
I hope you are feeling better. I'm recovering from this stinking cold/flu illness, which has swept through my household. My BG is the highest it's ever been 25 mmol on Christmas Day & 24 mmol on Christmas eve. (Yes they even match the date). Even today it's been 18.4 mmol & I've not been in range at all. Hoping things sort themselves out soon.

Hope you get well soon! My bloods weren’t right for two weeks before getting over it.

Thank you. It's a shame right on Christmas, hoping things will be ok soon or I'll have to give my DSN a call. I remembered the sickness guidelines information, so have have increased my rapid insulin today. :rolleyes:

Didn’t get a sore throat. (Rarely do.) But I did get a snotty chest.
BGs also haven’t been great of late either.
Lol, guitarist sent me some tracks over. We collaborate on writing tunes? (For a laugh.) Cleared the phlegm & shifted the cough.

Just reminds me of when I used to get this stuff as a kid?
I was fine running up to Christmas, then Boxing Day I got an ear infection, so I’ve gone from blowing my nose to wiping my right ear..

Lucky, I had an appointment with a DSN today, I got her to take a look at my ear, even though it’s easing up.
Been prescribed some drops..

Here’s wishing all a rapid recovery..

Hope you feel better soon, and bloods start behaving themselves. It's helpful for people replying to your posts if you could say which type of diabetes you have, if your ok with doing that?

Bless, nothing worse than ear ache. Suffered so much as a kid with chest infections and abscesses in ears and them weeping, the antibiotics stopped working and I became allergic to most! That was in the 1970s. I did grow out of it all but my hearing is not as good in my left ear and as gp said at the time it would effect my hearing and looks likely it has a little .

Sounds like the same era for me.. The lurgeys were less frequent after the day I left school. The the ear trouble that always followed stopped too.

DSN prescribed some steroid based drops. (Yep, I know.. BGs.) She did say it looked inflamed. Though I felt the discomfort had eased with the neck massaging just below the ear I had been doing.?
It’s just leaking out what looks & feels like “linseed oil.”

Though I feel great compared to what I had a couple of weeks back.
