Anyone ever had a cortisone injection?

I had a cortisone injection in my groin on Saturday and my blood sugar has been through the roof! No matter how much i inject I can't get it down. I believe the cortisone makes you insulin resistant?

Anyone know how long it takes to get back to normal? I'm back on the exercise today (30 minute HIIT session) and i'm hoping this will help.

A few years ago, I had a cortisone injection.
Like you, my BG reacted with a prolonged high.
This lasted a week.

It was frustrating in diabetes terms but one week of high to get rid of a pain I had experienced for over a year was worth it.

Yes I had one for a frozen shoulder last year. I think it was a couple of weeks before my levels were back to normal

My BG is controlled by a very low carb diet and one of the GPs in my local surgery warned me that I might need to think using insulin again if I were to have a cortisone injection for my creaky and painful knees and neck due to the cortisone increasing BGs. At the moment I've decided I prefer the pain to the insulin - but that might change in the winter.
