I loved the freestyle libre. For 8 months I thought I'd gone to heaven.

Unfortunately after that I started to develop the dreaded allergic reaction, which gradually got worse. Then the accuracy of the libre became increasingly awful and the results completely useless. Abbott were very good, and sent me new sensors and even a new reader. But eventually I had to give up, it wasn't giving me even faintly usable readings.

So, 6 months ago I left my glucometer at my local park (which was closed overnight) and I used my last sensor on the grounds that it was better than nothing (I normally do 50 tests a week.)

I had one strip left that fit the libre reader :).

Anyway, the sensor was irritating but not very (didn't give me a rash) but the results were still very erratic, and eventually I gave up.

So, has anyone had any success in getting usable results after a long break? Or are you doomed forever once the allergy has developed? I would be willing to buy a couple of new sensors if there was any chance they'd work. I'm in new Zealand and they have no knowledge of any potential new glue formulations.
