Anyone had High BS or Ketones after Coeliac Biopsy?

Hi Everyone, Been a few of weeks since posting but just been busy sorting out my son's nursery, having teacher and nurse meetings, training, etc... Anyway, we received a copy of the biopsy results and they confirmed they had done a blood test at the time of biopsy which also came back clear. Gastro consultant is adamant the initial bloods were somehow incorrect and has advised us to continue with a normal diet. Yay!! We have since been away on holiday and enjoyed all food as normal, especially Rick Stein's Fish and Chips!!!

Just to advise, as we have experienced, if anyone has or knows someone who has a positive blood test for coeliac, definitely don't decline the biopsy. I'm just wondering if our Endo consultant wasn't as caring or involved as she is, would she have accepted our refusal of a biopsy? We would have changed my sons diet for no reason restricting him when there was no need! It was scary at the time but we're glad we went ahead.

Glad things are back to normal for you. The blood test isn't always accurate and I know it gives false positives.
Being gluten free isn't that restrictive so no worries in that dept. :)

Hi, you're right, being gluten free isn't that restrictive but I think I meant more in the way of he couldn't eat as freely without worrying about cross contamination or if eating out or sharing things at nursery. I did look into a gluten free diet a lot when I thought he had it and was willing to cook everything from scratch but who knows? If not now, it's possible he could develop it later on but for now, he's fine.

Yep the main thing is your little man is fine :)
