Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

Hello all newbie here. I’m having the exactly same issues. It fails quickly like signal loss. Pausing and last 10+ mins. Then suddenly says replace.
I’ve used two sensors since 19/08/2025. First constant loss of signal and connection. Replacement applied after 8 days as I just could not get a reading. Second sensor applied 17/08/2025 and stated loosing connection the next day. Then for almost 18 hours showed me as being hypo! Awoke 0310 hrs on 19/08/2025 by alarm saying I needed to apply a new sensor as the one I had in has stopped working.

Phoned Abbott to be told there is a comparability issue between the Libre 2plus and the latest IOS. this is causing the connection issues. Their technical people are working on a fix for it! They’ve offered to replace the two sensors and give me a reader free of charge while I wait.

If there is a comparability issue what haven’t Abbott put something in there site regarding this issue. It was the first place I checked.

Abbott is sometimes behind in keeping up with IOS updates. I have version 18.6.1, what do you have?

That’s odd, it was not working even before I updated and I’m hoping it solves my issue. Going to upgrade my phone hopefully soon so the Bluetooth hopefully gets better

Update has been released for the libre 2 app in the uk if anyone hasn’t notice. it’s a bug fix and performance update
Hopefully it solves issues some are having

? Last update I see 25th April 25

The update: This update addresses the issue where customers using iPhones with a newly-installed FSLL 2.12.1 were unable to start or scan sensors if they were not logged into the app.

@grantg since installing the latest apple update and app the sensor hasn’t displayed the error where it pauses yet and been on for a while now. Put it on 24 hours before the dexcom ended(that was the best sensor I used this year) so far it looks to be working better

This has been on for over 24 hours now and nearly 48(put it on a day early) Still like this. Honestly starting to give up with the 2 plus, with dexcom one+ it wasn’t this bad

My opinion is, anyone having issues try and change it because the adhesive has clearly been changed

We appreciate you taking the time in sharing feedback regarding the FreeStyle Libre 2 plus sensors.

We have logged your complaint under to our complaint handling system, to be reviewed by our product development team.

I sent them this forum and told them people are having pause issues and then the sensor gives up. hopefully they release a software update
I’m constantly having issues with my Libre 2 Plus sensors. They always seem to end working before the 15 days is up. They either do that or keep telling me I have to wait 10 minutes to get a reading.

I never had any of these issues with the Libre 2 original sensors. They worked perfectly every time. I have contacted Abbot FreeStyle about these issues multiple times but yet these problems keep happening. I don’t think they’re fit for purpose.

Abbot should have done more testing and research before they released them to the public.

I’m getting VERY frustrated and annoyed by the constant issues.

Abbot keeps telling me they’ll send a replacement, which they do but I think they need to sort the underlying problem out with them.

Hello. I am using the libre 3 now and it’s better (have spares) they sent and I have changed my prescription to the libre 3 plus, anyway since I been using this sensor. It’s been so much better and been on over 24 hours now and haven’t had any signal loss, no errors at all so it’s worth trying that. I did try the dexcom one+ and that was very good but that only last 10 days (extra 14 hours if you can’t change it straight away) but it was only 0,2 at most out. It’s also got a calibration thing where you can correct it if it’s not matching your bloods, if you want something not far out and reliable try the trial of it and you won’t regret it

For the third time I have a libre 2 plus reading very low. Over night I had a hypo alarm. This morning my libre read 6.5 but the finger prick was 10. This one has been on since Saturday.

Abbot have replaced the previous two so it looks like I need to call them again.

i presume your fingerpricks are when bloods stable? eg 4-5 hours after foods. found that they are further out when rapid changes are occuring. whilst graph is flat as possible. seems to be a little more realible. with overnight hypo alarm can be compression low playing part into it too. have you tried any other locations for the sensor? (dont tell abbott if u do...)

Don’t know if it’s just me.
But I’ve found the 2plus BT range seems to be extended?
I no longer need to carry my phone with me about the house..
I can pretty much leave the phone on charge in one spot & it seems to have a similar range to my BT headphones or watch..
I've noticed this too. And BTW I've only had one sensor fall off. I can't comment on accuracy because I've had problems using a glucometer for comparison, but the trends up and down have been very helpful. I suspect (hope) my next A1c will be pre diabetic at worst. I am having health issues due to diabetes, but at least lately BG isn't one of them.

I’ve found with all the FSL from 1 to 2+ my estimated A1c is 15% higher than what comes back from the lab..
Same with the diabetesconnect app I use to log my meter?
