anyone overcome/reverse ed

Is your diabetes well controlled? No matter what else you do, if your diabetes is out of control this will only get worse. And you will develop other problems too.

So first priority is to get your blood sugars under control and keep them that way. We're happy to help with that.

Once that's done I'm sure there's a range of things you can try to help with this problem.

im kinda all over the place ive already had the worst of the worst happen wiy a amp of my toes on one foot so now im fighting to get my sugar right i figure once i heal i can exercise more an get more control

Type 1 is one of the most complex diseases to manage on a physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual level. Most medical professionals don't get it (unless they have it themselves!). If you tell us what insulins you use, how you manage your dosages, what your sugars are like, what everyday activities cause trouble, what you don't understand about diabetes, what gets you down, what's missing in your life, we'll be able to help you on all those fronts. You can do this! I bet in four weeks you can have a complete turnaround and get your life and health back.

i take humalog and lantus the humalog on a sliding scale an lantus at night the hardest part to me is staying even kill either i bottom out then shoot up my bs too high or im too high an struggle bringing it dwn theres no part of my life that's really harf I've been learned to cope mentally the only issue physologically is the ed im experiencing

That sounds good overall! When the physical issues are compounded by burnout or depression it's so much harder to fix your blood sugars. ED must be awful to deal with.

One thing to try when you get big swings is switching to a low-carb diet. Lots of people here swear by it. I've been low-carbing for 2 months, and because I take 60% less insulin, it's a lot harder to be way out.

Another option is a pump - in your case it sounds like it wouldn't be hard to be approved.

If you want to post up your sugars, carb intake and dosages on a typical day or several days we may be able to give you some insight.

Cheers and good luck!

yes its very hard an i actually use a pump but the issue is i dnt wanna use it anymorr though i am very thankful for the pump i would like to achieve s erection on my own. my diet i admit hadn't been the best though i am working on that trying to eat alot more healthy an maybe take some kind of supplements.my sugars typically run higher throughout the later parts of the day i dnt have the accurate times of my sugar results but they did range from 70 all the way to 562 i know very outrageous swings and my scale is
100_150 8units
151_200 10 units
201_250 12 units
251_300 14 units
and i increase obviously the higher it gets an that's of humalog wot 40 units of lantus at night plz help me and thanks for caring so far its really a struggle to get this right

Many people find they need different scales for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, because their body reacts differently at different times of the day. That could be part of the problem. But to work it out you need to keep a diary of your sugar readings! Have a look at http://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-glucose ... aries.html

Do you regularly go low during the night or in the morning? If so your Lantus dose is probably too high. (40 looks a bit high anyway.) This would also contribute to you yoyo-ing between highs and lows.

Is your sugar high when you go to bed? If so, it's likely that your dinner dose is too low and you are compensating with a high Lantus. Better to increase dinner dose and reduce Lantus.

These are just my guesses, I can't tell much without seeing a blood sugar diary. Do be careful when adjusting your dosages.

i kind of have the same theory going on an i just made up my own lil chartso i hope this will help out an maybe after a week of readings i can get back in contact with u to find a solution to this issue

Great, keep us posted. I really hope this will help a lot, but if not, there are other things to try! So don't lose heart.

By the way, with regards to ED. Some of it is temporary damage that will reverse when your sugars are stable for a while. Some of it is psychological (low and high sugars do mess around with your emotions) and will reverse too. Even the "permanent" nerve damage isn't really permanent - the body heals better than we know, and the brain will learn to work around the nerve damage anyway.

Sure you may need a bit of extra help to get around the ED, but things will improve a LOT compared to right now.

The most important thing is to keep your sugars under control, it will help everything else.
