I reckon you need some kip lol, 26 hours??!! I cut my carbs on diagnosis, got a better A1C and all ticked along ok with a few adjustments to meds along the way. Then it all went wrong last spring, very suddenly, figures in the high teens all of the time regardless of what I did with diet and exercise etc. We tried all of the new drugs from Victoza to Forxiga and everything in between to no avail. Sometimes, people can make changes that help hugely, but for some of us it all goes wrong and only insulin will do.
I am doing LCHF now and do you know what, last week I had the worst readings I have had for a few months now and no weight loss despite not eating massive amounts of fat etc. Believe me, the frustrations sometimes are so huge that I don't think life is worth living. I am sick of helping myself and getting nowhere, of not following the "norm" and having endos scratch their heads. So when I read flippant posts or posts that state facts as being black and white, I get even more disheartened and despondent than ever. I log my food on MFP and my cals are between 1200 and 1500 a day, below my TDEE etc, makes not a blind bit of difference. Calories in, calories out....... jeeeeeez, if only!
