My name is Mahmoud Kamali. I live in Iran. I am 67 years old. Type 2 diabetic since 1995. insulin dependent since 1998.
I kept my diabetes quite well and under control by keeping my diets. sports specially swimming and jugging and playing tennis kept me well. However, I put on weight gradually and this made me to increase using more insulin. Until 2007 when my doctor gave me special treatment and I gradually reduced the insulin injection to a acceptable level. The only problem was the overweight which the BMI index was over 30. At this stage my doctor prescribed me a drug called ACOMPLIA to over come the over weight problem. Unfortunately after consuming one box of 28 tablets and after 8 day I gradually became paralyzed completely. being hospitalized for about 3 weeks and a lot of infusion and drug therapy which did not do any good I returned home an stayed in bed for about one year. After this time I gradually could walk again with the aid of walking stick.
I am now just wondering if any one has the similar experience as such. and any treatment to make it better.
