I wonder has anyone used GL with GI to manage their diabetic diet. And what have you found?

My doctor suggested that years ago, before I was diagnosed T2. I put on 8 pounds in 2 weeks. At that time I was normally putting on 7 pounds a year, so I won't be trying it again.

Like many others I limit my carbs, in my case to about 75g per day. However the carbs I do have are largely the lower GI ones such as peas, carrots and lentils. Just relying on foods that are low GI but not taking into account the carbs probably doesn't work. Also, GI varies between individuals, the published figures are just averages, you would still have to test how foods affect you personally, so I don't see the point in calculating Glycemic Load.
