anyone's antivirus going nuts?

I also use AVG Free, have done for years.

Try restoring the computer to a time marker before you started getting problems.

it's only coming from this website, it seems to be trying to run a Malware called, 'track-visibility aspx' script from IP 54.148.68.242

Hi Jack, this only started for me after I was personally messaged on this site with 30/40 links in the message from a new member with no postings, which I reported. Deleted the message but I'm still affected

it needs the software guy to look at what they are running here, they may have picked up a bug or running a bad script

edit, firefox and a script blocker fixes it..if anyone wants to check their antivirus just enter the IP address 54.148.68.242, it should block it

My neighbour keeps updating to the latest O/S and is on Windows 8 but always says Windows 7 was much easier. He wishes he stayed with that.

it is confirmed that it is linked to a malware site, if you enter the number into your adress bar and click goto and it doesnt get blocked, your antivirus isn't protecting you

Hi Jack, I agree, I have avast at home and on 4 machines at work I find it very good and often surprised that as a dedicated virus detector that it does seem to pick up the malware as well.
I also use the free version of 'MalwareBytes' I have scanned my pc I'm using here, and it is clear of any malware.

You still running XP bluetit?

I understand it won't be supported for too much longer ... both the OS and the MSE

Mike :)
They have renamed it Defender which it was originally called and it is running here on Windows 8. That's if anybody cares.

What tablet do you have Bluetit. I had a Google Nexus tablet when they first came out about 3 years ago and I was told in the shop that AVG would not work on tablets. I gave it to my grandaughter when I got an iPad so don't know what virus protector she has on it now

You can get the AVG app now for Tablets. I have AVG on mine.

Mine is just a bog standard Android. AVG came already installed.

I have a Mac so do 't see these sort of things. I suspect it's probably a tracking cookie. Some AV packages treat them as malware and will warn you because they track where you go on the internet so that they can then target adverts at you. However some AV packages treat them as being part of life on the internet and therefore don't treat them as suspicious and as a result don't warn you. I think @Giverny needs to look at this and offer an explanation as something has clearly changed.

There are no tech guys around as it is the holiday period.
It has been reported and will be dealt with a.s.a.p. to determine where the fault lies..
