I've been noticing certain things other than symptoms and weight loss which have improved since I started eating low carb. Has anyone got any interesting or unusual ones?

One of mine is the lack of plaque around my teeth and gums. Always had to clean my teeth because of the excess, now hardly any at all!!

The other major one is bowel movement and wind.
Low carbing has firmed me up, which is the reason thehaemorrhoids has cleared up and it's Definately less windy, which the OH is made up with!

I don't miss the wife nagging me to stop eating too much bread and potatoes !
I also don't miss being out of breath and tired all the time.

I don't miss the lethargy and constant aches and pains.

And my teeth stay cleaner too.

No indigestion any more.

Better sleep.

No middle of the night sweats.

Finger joins no longer stiff and swollen.

Oh yes the better sleep!
Don't miss that!!
Actually slept 13 hours the other night (with three toilet visits) OMG! Think that it was the reaction to the busy holiday period.

I don't miss the forgetfullness!

Have I already say that?

I don't miss the constant getting up every 2 - 21/2 hours at night for a pee. Now I sleep all the way through.
I don't miss the constant dry mouth or the having to drink oceans of liquid........................see above
I don't miss constantly feeling tired and falling asleep watching tele. Up til 12:30 most nights now.
I don't miss having to time my walk to town so that I can get to the toilet if needed. No problem now.

I don't miss wondering who that fatty in the mirror was.

I don't miss feeling like a zombie 24 hours a day.

I don't miss being fed battered fish and chips 3 times a week...

And i certainly I don't miss being made to feel guilty because I insisted on eating full fat cheese, yoghurt, and "proper" butter instead of the supposedly healty low fat versions.

OMG.................Battered fish and chips 3 times a week, I would really miss.crying smiley.jpg

Once a week was fine, but in the end I was resorting to scraping off the batter - my body in this instance was telling me NO!!! A pity it didn't react in the same manner when I occasionally scoffed a whole box of chocs at one sitting....

My parents were great fresh fish eaters - when I was a child we lived at the seaside and we could get freshly caught fish from a fisherman who lived at the end of the next road. I've always liked my fish "neat" though I did like fish in batter but not that often and certainly not soggy in the middle to boot!

I don't miss several stone of ugly, unwanted fat. Also, I always hated macaroni cheese (it's a childhood school dinners trauma thing) so I don't miss not being able to eat that.

Mrs Hay-Char would undoubtedly say that reduced flatulence is a big plus but, as a bloke, I miss a really good guff :D.
