We are all Apple in our home/office now .. The PC bit the dust a few years ago and the wife is a big fan of the Apple range. She has the old style (still available) Mac Book Pro .. This still has the CD drive built into it .. The air and newer Mac books don't have a CD drive .. The wife says the CD Drive is not really needed as external drives can be plugged in at any time
The thing to consider is the PC to Mac softwear often will not cross over .. So if you have a lot of PC apps you still need to use then the Mac memory is able to be sectioned off to allow PC apps to be used ... We have not done this ourselves as the wife preferred the Mac apps anyway.

If you purchase direct from apple you can customise your Mac book like adding extra memory. Apple also sell refurbished Mac books .. If your not worried about having a brand new one ... Apple also have a brilliant community forum, should you need help with your Mac book .. Or you could just PM me and I can ask the wife ! She knows her way around the Mac systems. We still have our 20in 2007 iMac working perfectly.. Along side the 27in new iMac ... The wife edits an e magazine on them .. I just get to use the iPad .. As I know nothing about computers !

The wife asked what you will wanting to be use the Mac book for ? Gaming .. number crunching .. Letters .. Presenting..photos .. As the Mac will have iWork's and iLife programs I think they do .. Wife not around to ask at the moment ...

O well if your not wanting to launch a space shuttle ..... A mac book will be your pride and joy ...
The wife had a dell PC that lasted about 5 years after breaking down so many times I have lost count .. The dell repair man started to call my cottage his second home .... Never had any of my MacBook s break down yet ! ILife and iWork are very easy to use ..
Do let us know what you decide

The wife is hankering after the new Mac Pro ... But it's not going to happen just yet !

I use an apple macbook, and although they are a bit pricier than most laptops, the are so easy to use, especially for a technophobe like me. I wouldn't go back to anything else now. Mr Chris uses his to store his songs instead of taking a file with all the songs on paper.

Extraneous noise (mobile phones in quiet carriages), tattoos especially on females. Increasing arthritis in hands.
Hi, I have a 5 year old Imac, and a 1 year macbook pro. I have Windows office 2011 on both using mainly Excel. On the Macbook, my main (very minor) annoyance is the fact that the horizontal scroll bar disappears frequently, and takes fiddling to get it back. Other that it is a great bit of kit, and a delight when you open it because there is no delay in starting to use it (my old pc took forever to 'wake up')
