Are Diabetics OK To Get Tattoos?

It’s my 30th Birthday coming up in a few months and I want some fresh ink! Am I OK to get tattooed and will it affect my BG levels?

Tattoo care

Hello! I'm type 1 diabetic and am thinking of getting my first tattoo- it will be on my arm. Just looking for some advice about the whole process and caring for it? Would anyone warn against them? Thanks! Emily

Yep have 10 and a half no problems just follow after care advice and you should be fine
 
I have 9 in total now. Some I had when my control was absolutely awful, some when my control was great. As long as you follow the aftercare you should be fine. I’ve never had any issues with any of mine.
 
Reading this reminds me when I saw my consultant about ten years ago and he told me he was retiring early from the NHS because he was fed up with the way it was being run , he pointed around his office at all the leaflets around the walls and pointed to one which was tattoos for diabetics , I said does it make any difference ? he said none whatsoever , total waste of NHS money !

I got inked at a point in my life I was going off the rails. Management wise.

Followed the after care, it was fine.
