Artificial insulin vs. Natural insulin

I am curious to know that artificial insulin and Natural insulin are exactly same or is there some difference. I have read in so many articles that type 1 people life span is exactly same as normal person life. is it correct ?

The gap in life-span between people with diabetes and people who don't have the condition is narrowing, not sure what the latest stats are but much depends upon how well a person manages their diabetes, age of diagnosis and other health conditions they may have alongside their diabetes (to name a few).
