I do agree, although cant really speak for Oscar if things stay the same it isn't that bad.
Just really hard to manage a child, so unpredictable and growing etc, don't think his levels will ever be stable! Although they say its to be expected with his age x x

I agree. The doctors told me that if there was an "ideal stage" to get diabetes then I'm it. I've done the awkward teenage hormone bit, I've got my driving license, I finished uni last summer, been traveling, started a graduate job and got my mortgage. The major "difficult" times are over.

A man I work with was diagnosed aged 3 also. He's 26 now, still using MDI as he didnt like the pump. He's fascinated by my diagnosis as he only remembers life as a diabetic, he's always asking what changes I've made etc. hopefully Oscar will grow up fit and healthy just like Alistair!

He's fine, no health issues at all. I've only known him a few months, but he says he's always had pretty good control. I don't think he missed out on anything, he hasnt brought it up if he did.

He puts needles in his monitor case and that goes in his pocket, as does his pen. Men have bigger pockets than us!

Agree with you there Hale, it hasn't ruined my life or anything like that, it's just i have to keep more of an eye out on my health and diet :), at the moment everything is controlled well with me :D so it's all good

Sorry to hear about your son Mrs. Miles, such a young age to be diagnosed, hope he's coping well! I'm also excited about the AP, hopefully it won't be too far around the corner :D Since being diagnosed last year I've been pretty keen on searching for potential cures and treatments (As I'm sure many newly-diagnosed diabetics do) and there are numerous trials taking place on actual cures, it's made me pretty optimistic about the near future. And with patents expiring with Eli Lilly and Sanofi next year (the companies behind Humalog and Lantus insulin pens respectively), competition will rise between new companies, leading to (hopefully) new groundbreaking treatments :)
