You can eat as many carbs as you like AS LONG AS you know how to adjust your doses for it
However, I realise you haven't been told how to carb count yet or adjust doses (for both corrections and food) but when you do know you basically you need to match the amount of carbs you eat with the amount of fast-acting insulin you take otherwise you're glucose levels will not get back to where they should be (too little will make your glucose levels go even higher, too much will make it drop) - noting that everyone is different, so what I may need would probably not work for you
As you don't know how to adjust your doses I would certainly not go overboard with your carbs as you may well just go higher and 20 is already too high.
