Aspartame

Aspartame is an excitotoxin which means that it excites neurons until they die. A misdiagnosis of MS is therefore not surprising as this is associated with neural degeneration.

A very interesting article, thank you for posting

Most people will have no reaction. There will always be someone who has a dangerous reaction to any substance.

I've heard far worse things about Ibuprofen for example.

...and stevia was banned in this country for years when the Canadians and Americans had been using it for years.

But sugar is safe? Clearly not - hence this forum!

I agree with nmc, there are always some people who can't tolerate certain substances and we are all testament to that on here by being diabetic!

Aspartame may do to some people what sugar does to us... But at the minute it's sugar that is dangerous to me.

Diagnosed with GD in 2010, Completely disappeared postpartum. Re-diagnosed December 2012 with type 1.5 diabetes, age 26, BMI 22 currently controlled by only Metformin, 500mg twice a day.

Quantity too, the poster who said they drank fizzy flavoured water and drinks because of a dislike of the tap water was probably drinking quite large amounts during the course of a day, day in day out.

OH gets migraines but drinks diet fizzy, it doesn't cause him a problem but being tired or dehydrated does. We are all so different and this is the reason why medical research must be so difficult I guess. Waaaaaaaay too many variables.
