My bg levels yesterday were all between 8 and 9. I injected an extra half unit at breakfast, full unit at lunch and 1 1/2 at tea and my levels refused to come down.

Woke up with them on 8.6, injected an extra unit but was 10.3 before lunch. Injected an extra unit and a half. Before tea I was 9.8 so injected an extra unit and a half again. Now almost 4 hours later I'm 13.8!!

I don't really know what to do? They just don't seem to be coming down :(

Are you getting a cold? Mine usually shot up when I am getting sick which means I need to increase my basal on my pump to try to combat high sugars

Also maybe get a new insulin cartridge out incase that is the reason they are a bit higher (due to it working less effectively for some reason)

Thanks patch. I don't feel like I'm coming down with anything so don't think my high levels are because of that.

I haven't tried changing the cartridge. Do they go wrong often then? That's a bit concerning.

I don't think they go wrong often but it's worth changing them if you suddenly get unexplained highs.

Have your sugars come down yet?

Hi. What is you BMI? If noticeably overweight and insulin resistant you can get into a bit of a vicious circle with insulin. I'm guessing of course but worth asking

Thanks again. I woke on 4.4 so that was good. I was 7.7 before lunch though, gave myself an extra half unit then dropped to 4.4 again but now I'm 8.3. Not too bad considering I've been munching a little. Hoping to stay in single figures the rest of the day.

I'm not exactly sure of my bmi but I'm only just out of the underweight bracket so definitely not overweight. Thank you For your help though
