Hi
I went to see my diabetes team last thursday and by chance managed to speak to the specialist diabetes nurse who looked at my glucose readings and the amount of hypos i am having and immediatley wrote a letter to my G.P to refer me to a diabetes consultant as i fit the critiria for a insulin pump therapy, my husband and i having been trying to get this for the past 5 months but just seemed to have the door shut in our faces being told that its down to funding. Over the past couple of years my diabetes has got the better of me i have lost my awareness of hypos, my HBC1A went upto 9.1 last year but thankfully came down to 8.1 (still high but its a start) I seem to be having hypos sometimes 3 - 4 times a week even after reducing insulin levels and spliting my levemir from night to half morning and half night (meaning injecting 5 times a day all together) My diabetic team have tried everything but with no avail.

So the only thing is a insulin pump therapy i know this is just the first step but i think i have managed this so hopefully the rest won't be to bad (fingers crossed)
