At my age is it worth it ?

My Mum is 95 and i manage to keep her away from the worst of dietary excesses. She has and Hb a1c of 6.5, which isn't too bad. Her GP told me he's reluctant to give very elderly people anything that might cause a hypo.[Falls can be dangerous! ] He did recently change her Metformin to SR at my request. She's recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and is on Tamoxifen. She attends the breast clinic. I've never had anyone tell me or her that something isn't worth doing because of her age.

Dear Catherine Cherub,

Thank you for the link to 'New Old Age' - I found the comments to be most incisive for the most part and especially those from
posters with a medical background. Most refreshing and recommended reading for all members who consider themselves to be approaching senior status.
