Atheletes Foot

I know this is the same fungus as the dreaded thrush so is this also common with diabetes ?

I do tend to get it more that once a year, try and use different treatments each time presently using good old Mycota

With no word of a joke. It was come & go for me Untill I got “hand foot & mouth?” (Don’t ask. That was hell in itself, thought I had neuropathy? Till diagnosed by a virologist at A&E after I thought I had neuropathy which came on way too fast.)
Skin peeled like sunburn when it was all over..

So far.. so good. Still rarely wear socks. Don’t keep the fungus in the dark??

About five years ago I had fungus on my feet a couple of years running. I was advised by a chiropodist to keep them cool. I now frequently wear sandals instead of shoes in warmer weather and no longer have fungal infections. Hope this helps.

I used to own a yacht and went sailing a lot - I wore open sided shoes or sandals all year round and never got out of the habit, always got wet feet launching the dinghy.
These days I wear sandals with closed toes.
Although I have had some problems such as the cellulitis that seems to have left me alone for some time now, but I never had athletes foot.
My brother in law used to have smelly feet - but he used to wear the same socks all week in his work boots, plus he wore cheap shoes, plastic rather than leather - my sister soon sorted that. Clean socks daily, boots off and feet washed Monday to Friday. She is just under 5ft, he's just about 6ft - poor guy never had a chance....
