has a very nice looking recipe for chocolate brownies that have half the calories of normal chocolate brownies. Not only that, but they give the nutritional breakdown at the bottom of the recipe and the carb content is reduced from 33.5 g of carbs per square down to 19.1 g of carbs... (the recipe makes 16 squares). The secret in the recipe was to use butternut squash to lower the calories... it also has two tablespoons of regular flour, so there's room for improvement as well and if you push the boat out for 85% cocoa solids dark chocolate, it could be reduced still more as the recipe called for 70% cocoa solids dark chocolate. The 200g of caster sugar could also be subbed out with a cookable sweetener...
I like this magazine as most of the recipes give the nutritional info per portion and a lot of them are diabetic friendly at the same time... just lay off the pasta though... some of the recipes in this month's issue have heavy carbs from the pasta content!!!
