Aviva insight - change correction ratio

hi everyone!

I am wondering if anyone out there can help me. I can't remember how to change my correction ratio ( is that what it's called even?!) on my pump. I am really struggling to keep my numbers low and it keeps suggesting ridiculously low adjustments, so I figure I need to get in there and change it. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks in anticipation.

on the same screen as my data, click settings, bolus advice, time blocks and choose which time block/blocks you want to change, then click next, next again and on the screen you will see carbohydrate ratio and under that insulin sensitivity. The sensitivity will affect how much say 1 unit will drop your blood glucose level by.

Click done and done again and then save, be careful how much you adjust this by as a little change can have a big impack on your levels.

If you are unsure call your pump nurse and ask them for advice

Thank you for your message, as for the alcohol, I’m not allowed to drink any alcohol due to being on a high dosage of morphine due to the amount of back pain I have. I’ve been on morphine patches since 2015.

Tomorrow I’m going to start the fasting tests & see what my BGs are doing, I’ve done the fasting tests before but that was about 1.5 years ago. I’ve lost over 4 stone in last 15 months and I know that a DSN said to me that when you loose weight you have to adjust your basal rates .

I’ve got to do them over a few days as they are in Fasting blocks as follows:-
Morning 7-13.00hrs
Afternoon 12-18.00hrs
Evening 18-22.00hrs
Overnight 22-1.00
Overnight 2-6.00
My BGs usually run between 5-8 but when I peaked to 9.8 the other night and then done a correction it was 4.1 in morning, but this has happened a couple of times when I’ve peaked.
All of my time block insulin sensitivity is 1unit-1.8mmol/L
I found you message on the forum which I was grateful for but I just couldn’t understand which way to go on the Insulin sensitivity, but now you have said go higher that has given me a piece of mind.
I’ll see how the basal test go & adjust accordingly once I’ve completed each block.
