I found this dietdoctor.com video -Are avocados good for keto/super low carb?
I am sure I read somewhere they were but I looked on carbs and cal and 70g is 3G of carbs which doesn’t seem all that low.
having done keto strictly for the last few weeks, the weight loss still isn’t doing anything.
Starting to prep for when I go back to work. Think I’ll need to up carbs a tiny bit just to make sure I keep where I am.
I’m often in the 4s and while I know that’s fine I don’t always feel well on it so if I’m driving and teaching I’d prefer and feel better in the 5s. before once leaving lockdown and starting working the extra energy used caused sugars to drop quite significantly. Didn’t matter then because they were higher than now. So just being prepared.
Thank youI found this dietdoctor.com video -

It’s using the carbs and cals appThat carb number looks too high - is it USA style 'total carbs' which includes fibre or net carbs (the carb measure used on UK labels)? If total carbs then deduct the fibre carb count.
I suspect that there may be some variation between avocado types - net carbs in avocados seem to be roughly 2-3 gms per 100 gms. Most of the carbs in avocados are fibre. That carb number looks too high - is it USA style 'total carbs' which includes fibre or net carbs (the carb measure used on UK labels)? They need to be a the right level of ripeness to be at their best. They should be soft and creamy but still with yellow green flesh, avoid any black bits.I’ve tried an avocado I found it had no taste and a horrible texture.
And so difficult to tell when ripe. They need to be a the right level of ripeness to be at their best. They should be soft and creamy but still with yellow green flesh, avoid any black bits.
Very true. There are ways to ripen them by heating them apparantly, or by putting them in a brown bag (or maybe just near) a banana as bananas ripen other fruitAnd so difficult to tell when ripe.
A lot seem to go bad before they even get near being ready.
I've given up adding them to the Asda order as so many were thrown away. Now I only buy them when I can pick and choose them myself.
But they are good nutritionally, healthy good for us fats
