If I apply my new sensor an hour before the old one runs out, do I scan the new one straight away or wait till it’s needed?

You can scan it straight away however the old one will no longer work. It will just ask if you want to start a new sensor and you say yes. I put my new ones on 24 hours before to bed in.

So you can’t ever avoid an hours gap then?
Unfortunately not.

If you are concerned regarding your BGs during the “dark hour?” You can use the meter till the sensor is back “online….”

Are you talking about the Libre 2??

I run both libre & shuggar apps simultaneously,
When I start a new sensor shuggar reads the old one for the hours start up time enabling to still get readings to my watch & phone every 5 minutes

Does losing an hour really matter ?

Diabox can stretch sensor life out too…

But every minute. Which can work with some sensors..

Others just go on a repeat send at least the last end of sensor life 6 or maybe 8 hours? Please be carful on “that” hour..

Best wishes.

To clarify @DEBBIESCOTT , Libre sensors if pushed beyond factory life. Can sometimes loop the last 6 or 8 hours after recommended usage... (on a 3rd party app.)
