Avoiding the lantus drop

recently I had been having higher fastings so I moved dinner earlier and la thus later. It's working for fasting however I'm getting a 20 (us) point drop in the middle of the night.

Monday. Went to bed at 83. 1 unit lantus and woke up at 84. BUT 3 am was 57
Tues. went to bed at 89. 1 unit lantus and woke up at 86. BUT 2:30 am 59
Wed . Went to bed at 102. 2 units lantus woke up 101. 4:30 am 82 I did have half a hard boiled egg with a plop of mayo ( more because I was hungry)

So egg and mayo did not stop the drop

What food is the best to stop the drop but stay steady without a rise?

Don't say carbs as I don't eat them please. Would it be just fat? Cheese? Scoop of avocado? Lean protein? Fatty protein? ( although egg didn't work) I thought it would be fatty protein but as said that didn't work.

Thanks

Hi,

I won't mention the "C" word. Totally respect what you do.

The lantus. Do you inject around 11pm?
Those drop times (between 2&3am.) look familiar to me. I use Lantus.
Another possible drop zone due to it's "working profile" for me is twix 5&6am.

Haha. You can use the C word as long as it stands for CHEESE.

I take lantus between 10-10:30. Trying to put 4 hours between dinner and lantus now. Screws up my routine but I can figure that out.
I'm not setting an alarm, just waking up at random times to 'go'.
Last night went to bed at 95. Small bite of cheese. 4:30 65. Woke up 68. Complete opposite with no morning rise. However I did wake up an hour earlier than usual. Wondering if the bigger rise is when I sleep longer.

The puzzles the puzzles. I don't want these drops. I'd rather fix a slightly higher fasting with breakfast.

How about a 5g square of very high % cocoa solids chocolate? I can eat that at any time of the day (or night). :)
