Hi folks I’m a type2 diabetic on insulin I had a very successful pregnancy an delivered a healthy 7lb 4oz girl at 39 weeks +4 days I was inducted but needed up having to have a section after 12 hours in labour.. my wee girl is a month old.. did anyone start trying for another baby soon after.. thanks in advance

Well done, and congratulations on the new baby. Babies are absolutely adorable things, and I can understand the desire for another one soon after. Pregnancy does though, cause the depletion of some nutrients, for the mother. My advice would be to wait at least a little while, to improve your nutritional status, before trying again. This applies to women without diabetes, and is therefore probably even more relevant if you have it.

Concentrate on eating healthily for yourself, and especially food with folates in, before going for the next. Then go for it.

My little one is a year old and I’m now 9+5 weeks pregnant il have a 19 month age gap ... it still feels v soon but I think 10 months / year is a fair gap to leave to start trying :) it’s upto you but I didn’t have a section so I guess you would need to consult your consultant team about this my advice would definately be to wait for now though the first year is just amazing I’m not sure I would of coped pregnant any sooner really .... if you still feel this way down the line when baby is a bit older and docs say all is ok then go ahead :)
Good luck and congrats ! Xxx
