Hey ladies,

Iv just had my 24 week scan and my little mans belly is measuring normal but borderline normal .. He's literally on the top end of what is normal at this stage.

I know diabetics baby's can be larger but my hab1c is 5.7! And ever since I fell pregnant my bms have been in range!! So I'm a bit confused as to where he's getting this extra glucose.

The consultant said its nothing I'm eating and I'm doing perfectly! He's just fat!

Has anyone else had a similar situation with this and how did it all turn out?

People say don't worry but of course naturally you do

Hey there..well your doc is right..don't worry..!..I have a 8 month old now and had the same issue ! My sugars were in control but one off times they would go up...but more or less good..but my baby inside was getting larger...my endo told me a lot of tall women have this issue...not just about being a diabetic..and also scan machines are never accurate
..always 800 gms less or more ! So pls just control ur sugar to the best and pray ! And pls don't worry ! Hang in there ! Good luck :)

I'm short haha
My partner was a big baby, and women without diabetes can have larger baby's too so maybe I'm prone to having big babies.

I have a continuous Glucose monitor so I constantly no what my sugar are.

What did you baby weigh when he was born? And did you have a c-section of natural birth?

I physically can't control my sugars any better

xxx

I think you need to focus on the fact that whilst he's at the upper end of normal he's still normal. ;) sounds like you're doing well and some babies will be at the end of normal even without the diabetes. Take it easy on yourself, you're doing everything right. Good luck! Xxx

Hi madeline. ..my baby was 3.2 kgs and u was induced at 38 w completion leading to a c section...it's challenging to be a diabetic n pregnant ! It's that phase where the world tell you eat all that u want...but with diabetes u can't !

Having said that n by no means I want to scare you..you are doing a fab job ! So just give it time n don't blame anything on urself !
