HI all
It's a long time since I been on the forum. My fibromyalgia and CFS has been so bad I haven't even been using the internet much at all. I did want to drop by though and update anyone who's interested.
I'm the one who had the kidney removed and had bad kidney function in the remaining kidney. My EFGR after the op was about 46. Then it climbed over two and a half years to a high of 66. It is now a whopping 91! I am thrilled with that and put it all down to a change of diet...seems kidneys love a HFLC diet.

I am still out of prediabetic range but it does creep up and down. At the moment , the last HbA1c was 39. It did go down to 37 but has crept up a little. Some sites say that's borderline diabetic so am a bit confused but hey ho...am managing.

I hate bread now! I have even gone off meat and just have occasional chicken. I love fish and veg. I make a full cream cheese sauce with my fish and love it. Still missing chocolate and stuff. Hope you are all okay.

Welcome back. Glad you're feeling upbeat and well done for keeping your BS levels down. Can you not manage high-cacao chocolate? Also I can make all kinds of cakey/puddingy things with a sweetener instead of sugar.
Hope you stay around.

Hi and thanks.
I do have a bar of dark 80% cocoa solid chocolate in most of the time but to be honest just one square seems to antagonise my acid reflux! I tried an Atkins bar and felt ill for 24 hours...really upset tummy.

Shame :( I'm into mug cakes at the moment and my sweet tooth has diminished quite a lot so just a little sweetener tastes fine.
