Hi  Phew, I'm so glad to be home
I didn't have an operation today, but I have been booked in for Wednesday 28th August.
I have a Retina hole, they were talking of 'surgery' under local anaesthetic today and they started telling me the procedure but I couldn't cope with it. It made me feel sick I said I just couldn't do it, I did think about it being less complicated and quicker but I knew I just couldn't have all that done to my eye without a GA.
Mr Newton told me that I am not to work, to take things easy and the operation will help my eye but I will lose about 80% of my vision in the eye, but without the operation, maybe no vision in the right eye. I have also been signed off sick for 2 weeks, but I'm self employed, so I'm not sure what to do with the sick note, I don't think it counts :?:
I'm anxious and worried about it, but it will be ok, got to think positively because our eyesight is so very important, so just over a couple of weeks now. I will be careful in what I do and have decided to get the main weekly shopping from Iceland's and get it delivered instead of pulling a heavy shopping trolley home each week, so I don't put any strain or pressure on my eyes.
I hope you all have a good day and thank you ALL for your lovely messages, your kindness and support , it has really touched me  Thank you again
Best wishes RRB XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
