After I was diagnosed in 2015 I started to walk & run, something I had not done for some considerable years.
I had a few minor injuries that I was soon able to recover from but in mid Sept this year I damaged the tendon that holds the Hamstring in place & had extreme pain just at the side & behind the knee Have not been able to do any running or brisk walking until today without a great deal of pain. However when I got up this morning there was hardly any pain so I went for a brisk 5Km walk after breakfast & covered the distance in 47mins with hardly any pain. Hoping this continues so that I can start running again in the new year.
71 years young & I still enjoy my running

Well done, I hope the recovery is a full one but don't be too ambitious too soon. Take it steady.

Very well done! I'm a walker myself - though I must try swimming when the weather is bad enough to put me off my brisk walk!

I will certainly be taking it easy& will not be running to soon. It will be 5Km walks hopefully ioncreasing speed gradually then start jogging at just over walking pace until running again. The most annoying thing about it is that I was half way through a Half marathon training plan, so will have to start from scratch again if I decide I still want to do a Half Marathon. My friends at Parkrun are all hoping I will soon be back running but in the meantime it is walking daily with a couple of 5k brisk walks a week & Marshalling at parkrun

I have learnt to listen to my body so when there is pain I ease off. Thanks to you all
