Back/kidney pain

please could anyone help me. I have type 2 diabetes and taking metformin 2x500 per day. I now have dreadful lower back pain
Around the kidney area. I have read that metformin can cause this pain. Please can anyone assist me. I am struggling with
Having upset tummy also. I am very much trying to persevere with this medication but honestly don't think I can carry on like this. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks
 
Talk to your doctor about Metformin SR. The slow release version of the drug has been beneficial to many forum members.

I'm afraid the only thing to do is go and see your GP and discuss it with him.
I hope you manage to resolve matters.
