Hi, I have 2 questions that i need answering

So on friday morning i woke up with a feeling that something was wrong with me as i have had pain near where my kidneys are I think and it has been constant through out friday and today. I do not know if I should be worried about a kidney infection, but I have been drinking more diet sodas and drinks than water and I have the feeling of needing to belch/burp every 15 to 30 minutes.

I think i have overindulged on Valentines Night with my girlfriend, but i am seeing my doctor about it on Monday and i am going down to my local swimming centre for a couple of hours just to relief some tension of me.

Also my second question is that i only have 10 pounds to last me until friday and I am thinking of just buying soup with the 10 pounds left for this week, I have read online about it and I think that I can do it.

I used to get quite bad back pain and I would use ibuprofen to help, since Ive lost weight I don't seem to get it anymore.

In regards to the soup, I would recommend buying 3-4 leeks, a box of oxo chicken stock cubes and a pack of fresh chicken drumsticks. Slice and fry the leeks then add the chicken, and some chicken stock, cook till chicken is cooked then take meat off and put into the soup and throw the bones. That should make about 5 portions. And you will prob have change. If you have a look around the low carb receipe thread you will find more soup and other meal ideas. If you don't buy ready made you can make the money go alot further and you don't get loads of additives.

£10 pound,

What have you already got in your fridge/freezer and kitchen.

When you go to your store only buy 4 cans of beans for £1.00p etc; shop around as exercise also helps. yellow label veg if you know what I mean.

Why not try Freeganism, you can let us know if it works.

Visit friends just before meal times.

Scrounge off your girl friend.

best of luck.

Roy. :)

Hello Lenny3.

You sound possibly full of wind and gas ?
Hence the need to burp often - fizzy soda/water will be causing this more than likely :)

Try drinking non fizzy drinks 'only' - see if it eases the need to burp etc...

With your last £10 you could think about getting loads of veggies/meat in for the week
from shopping at stores with goods REDUCED prices

Some stores reduce goods 2 or 3 times a day at a 10% reduction each time!
Asda , tesco , sainsburys , morrisons do this ...
This way it can make a lot more food for your money :P
Rather than it being the other way around

A good soup or stew will go furthest for you and give you ideal dietry nutrients etc...
Buy some eggs too - these are great as they're sooooo versatile to use with veggies
Think spanish omlette [use spring onion,red/green/yellow pepper, peas[small bag of frozen]
mushrooms/ham/cheese] all can be thrown into a simple omlette!
You can pick things out - no need for all at once .
Vary things with a couple of omlettes in the week - it is a filling meal too ...

Lettuce parcels is another good and quick thing to rustle up .
Huge clean washed lettuce leaves - just chuck anything in them - roll up and munch :)
Grated cheese,ham slices,onion,celery,grated carrot,sliced up peppers,tomatoes,cucumber,
sliced up boiled egg etc. pop any favourite salady dressing on too if you wish .
These are fab for a tasty lite bite meal and so easy to make!

With only the £10 to spare buying in reduced will and should give you plenty of options if
you write a hit list - look only for these items - then improvise ...

I did this when my hubby was made redundant - confess I still love to do it even now .
Its great to savour a delicious stew made for just a couple of pounds!
It CAN be done - plan ahead write foods needed hit list - target stores after 2.00pm this is usually the 1st 10% reduction.
About 4.30pm its the 2nd 10% reduction then about 7.30pm its the final last 10% reduction of the day.
I even know the staff who do the reduceing of the food - browse around - till spot them marking things down
then go and look what is available ...

Hope this can help you - some ideas there for you :)

Well izzi, Freeganism works as my flatmates have kindly allowed me to have bits of their food and drink and i even got four cans of beans of a flatmate who says he doesn't like him. I have only spent £5.63 on 3 500g bags of cornflakes from tescos for 31p, 5 litres of semi-skimmed UHT milk from iceland for 50p each and 4 boxes of cup of soups from best-one shop for 55p each.

Anna.

Hi Anna, my burping is slowly stopping and i have been of the fizzy drinks since Monday. Also I have the tried lettuce wraps with ham and tomato and tasted fantastic, I am not much of a fan when making omelettes as i find it hard to cook with eggs (unless they are boiled) but I am going to try to look at reduced items at Tescos and Farmfoods at 7 or 8 in the night as tescos do not close until 10pm and farmfoods closes at 8pm.

Finally, I have lost 5-6 pounds of my weight by only having £10 left and I am considering on doing a diet where I am having a bowl of cereal for breakfast and lunch, then making meat soups for tea

I'd have suggested the following:
1kg pasta for £1
2kg frozen mixed veg for £2
5 cans of kidney beans for £1
bag of breakfast oats for £1

[Edit to add: carbs are cheap, and it's cheaper to eat grains than to eat animals fed on those grains]

Which leaves £5 for eggs (e.g. 50) , meat (e.g. 36 meatballs) and fish (depending on how comfortable you are with eating budget beef given recent events) or some combination thereof.

George Osborne  made a huge fuss about the brilliant idea from Akindrat18 :) with regard to £10 lasting for a week

Akindrat18 :) You now have a great future in politics, The bankers :( are not to pleased with you.

Anyway best of luck as you seem to have lots of good friends.

Roy. :)
