Back to work

Hi all,
Just come from an appointment at my GPs and he has signed me fit to go back to work! I cannot express how happy I am, have been signed off since the 12 Feb, diagnosed 14th, It will be so good to get back into the swing of things and start earning and paying back the debts that have built up over the last 2 months, whoop whoop!!
Just wanted to share.
Onwards and upwards.

That's crazy! I was allowed back the next day "if I wanted". I ended up taking a week as I got tonsillitis too and figured I deserved it.

I couldn't imagine being off for so long, you must have been pretty ill! I liked getting back to my routine (with the addition of a couple needles!) to help me adjust. I was diagnosed 25th February

Good luck going back :)

Really happy for you - hope all goes well! It's definitely inspiring to see people eager to get back in to work

My GP just kept on signing me off, although was quite poorly on diagnosis, not insured at work without been signed fit to work! Can't wait to get back though, strange but really missing it.

I like the routine of work. Without it what are we meant to do all day otherwise. 2 weeks off is enough for me! At least you're finally getting back :)

I can manage a day or two at the most of inactivity then I have to be doing something.. I am having surgery on the 22 may to laser fragment a kidney stone. I have been told I will need about a week to recover and will have to rest..REST ..don't know the meaning of the word. Wife wants to go on a 2week cruise next year for her birthday.. I will go and smile because I love her but it will drive me up the wall...enjoy getting back to work..well done and glad you feel better

Soooo refreshing to note there's someone who actually wants to work/get back to work.

"Respect", as they say nowadays, Diddly.

Well first week done and it was great, went low a couple of times but nothing dramatic! My manager and boss have both been great and too let them know if I need anything and as I am the first diabetic at work I have been asked to get together with our H&S manager to draw up a form of safe working practices and needs to be implemented by the firm, could not be happier !!

That's awesome! I work for a large firm so I'm not the first and won't be the last so I had no issues, but I'm glad to see them taking such an interest and getting YOUR input into what is best for you and what is safest for those around you :)
