I’m 16 years post T1 diagnosis originally in Singapore. For many years my go to meters were One Touch meters (I always had 2-3 meters) and I self funded the test strips through stocking up in Duty free while travelling.
In 2018 I returned full time to the UK. I started self funding a CGM (currently using a Dexcom G7 which I’m happy with). My NHS endocrinologist prescribed a 4Sure Smart duo meter with both BG and ketone strips, so this is my primary meter. But my previous meters have been gradually dying, so I want to invest - self funding in at least 2 back up meters (one for the car, one for my work office).
What would you suggest? My criteria are accuracy first, strips availability, strips cost.
Plus does anyone else share my pet peeve that each meter brand appears to use pretty identical pricking devices, but with bespoke lancets that are not interchangeable?
Many thanks, everyone
Ellen
