OK Rucky - first of all, you're borderline - not good but not the worst place to be in!

We all know what a shock it is to be told that diabetes is on the scene, but once it has sunk in a bit, you can do something about it. You are not helpless - or on your own - there is always someone to talk to on here for a bit of support. A good place to start is to read up on the Low Carb diet forum - if you try this out, you might reduce your blood sugars by the time of your next appointment.

Have a think about getting a blood glucose meter - there's lots of threads on here about how to choose and use them. The point of this is it will let you know where you are and how any changes you make to your diet are working.

Remember you are in the driving seat - you're not just a helpless passenger.

Anyway, welcome to the forum - you've found the best place on the net for support and advice!
