hi there, about 2 months ago I was taken to hospital hdu unit my sugars was up to 69 i was told I have type 2 diadetes .im now on insulin 30 in the morning and 26 at night ,my problem is since then I have had bad diariha every morning I have had a stool test my doctor is giving me the results Thursday and I must have a scon on the 28th any advice please

Keep hydrated as you lose a lot of fluid when you have diarrhoea, there's some good antidiarrhoeal medicines available at the chemists but I suspect your gp has already prescribed one for you, good luck with the test and I hope they find out what is causing the problem.

hi thank you for your reply I got some Imodium tabs so I will give them a try

High blood sugars and lack of insulin can cause diarrhea. Get these under control and you should see an improvement.

Hi. Can I ask whether the Metformin you are on is the Slow Release (SR) version? The non-SR version causes many users to have bowel problems so do ask the GP to change you over if needed. Insulin only rarely causes side effects like yours. What is your diet like? Those insulin numbers seem quite high and imply you might be a bit overweight? If so, then do reduce the carbs in your diet and portion sizes which may help overall, but obviously you must keep in contact with the GP.

hi im not on metformin now didn't get on with them made me very sick .I am over weight but I have lost a stone so far ,I am really struggling with my diet I love fruit but that sends my sugar high ,I have reduced my meal portions then my sudars go to low .I drink 7 up free and I have a small bowl of dry roasted peanuts while whatching tv at night .I was told to try and keep my GL level between 9 and 13
