have you been diagnoised with anything which is causing the pain. I get simular pain on the rare occasion I go high. Highs also make me feel very depressed too.

Hi Allan

I got rid of my Neuropathy in hands and feets by doing exercise 20 mins a day on a stepmachine and by loosing weight (13 kilos) and of course keep sugar low.....try to take E & A vitamins - and have a Multivitamin tablet a day as well. And then you need to take another tablet that also helped me - I get you the name tomorrow as I have it at home (office now). You can get rid of the bozing and cold feet if you do a huge effort....and sorry to say - but you should never allow yourself to have readings around 20....

Have you had insuling drops? it takes your blood sugar right down (within hours) and if your willing to do what it takes - you can keep the sugar readings low after drop....

Hi Allan,

You are having a rotten time.

A few things. There is a new antidepressant called duloxetine that can help depression and neuropathic pains. If it is going to work for these you should know in a few weeks/months.

The only way to get rid of the neuropathy is to normalise your blood sugars long term. Even then it can take over 5 years to get your feet back to normal.

To do this you will need to adjust your diet so that you need less insulin to cover the food and/or get your insulin adjusted so that round the clock blood sugar control becomes easier.

At some point soon you need to see the diabetologist about all this stuff but to start you off you could do the modules on the course at http://www.dsolve.com which go over in depth about what needs to happen to get normal blood sugars.

Dr Bernstein's book Diabetes Solution and Gary Scheiner's book Think Like a Pancreas can help you realise there are a lot more options than suffering in pain for the rest of your life. It is tough to change your daily routines but you have taken the first step by asking, "Is there anything I can do about this bloody miserable condition?"

Hi again Allan

The tablets I take against bad feets and hands is METHYCOBAL - it helped me together with getting sugar levels right.

You need to do a huge effort to keep your sugar levels low.

Even you take a lot of medicine - its not the way to keep sugar low - only life-style change is. No sugar bars - no sugar drinks.....

I know it can be hard - as you always have that little devil sitting on your shoulder saying; "comon lets have another one" - but you must follow your Angels advice on your other shoulder or you will never win your battle....and only keep pharma industry happy.....

How about your weight?
