HI all, I suffered from incredibely painful stomach ache last night after eating at my Nephews 18th birthday party.

I ate , salad, a slice of quiche , sausage roll and some chicken tikka washed down with a non alchoholic bucks fizz.

Started feeling poorly about 2 hours after the food , feeling very hot initially and then got horendous stomach ache. Suffered with it all night and am only just this morning starting to feel better.

I also had a similar experience with a piece of carrott cake on holiday.

I'm sure its not food poisioning as no body else was effected just me.

I'm type 2 diet only and have been very good since being diagnoised back in June eating healthy and cooking food from scratch.

Hi Janie.

Here is a link to a site with much information about Stomach Ache etc. As you will see there are over 300 possible causes.
http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/stomach_ache.htm

It is possible that only you are affected and that it could have been poorly cooked food, I was caught out this way once with a Quiche, yet I was the only one. I was ill for a few days. I don't touch the stuff since.

If you still have the problem see your GP.

Hey thanks for the response, dont think its food poisoning as I've had it before with throwing up as well.

Same thing happened on holiday eating a piece of carott cake so wondered if that was linked.

Don't know about the carrot cake, maybe you just ate too much ?? Years ago I had a pile of food and felt awful after it. I know a little better now. If it keeps happening you definitely should see your GP and discuss it, there are too many other things it could be. Tandoori / Tikka is nice though...could eat that every day. :D

Have you ever been tested for coeliac? It's quite comon in the UK - something like 1 in 300 people have it here. Also there are a fair number of people who test negative for coeliac but still get all the symptoms and are considered gluten intolerant.

I used to get bad stomach pains after eating but since cutting out gluten I don't get them any more.

Like Cugila says, it might be a good idea to see your GP and ask for some advice if you keep getting symptoms as it could be a sign of lots of different things.

Sounds so similar to what I experienced 8 days ago. I knew it wasn't food poisoning pain though we had eaten out with a big seafood smorgasbord in the early evening. The pain was severe and I did throw up. Went to the emergency department of Darwin Hospital, NT and after CT scan and an ultrasound the diagnosis was a "spectacularly infected gallbladder with gallstones". Admitted, put on drip with massive antibiotics and two days later, keyhole surgery, gallbaldder and stones all gone.

Interestingly in the 7 days prior to this occuring, my blood pressure dropped to an amazing low from a stable 129/78 to anything as low as 98/53. The infection may have been bubbling away for at least a week before the pain hit big time. All is good now and BP is 119/74.

Well its happened again so the docs are going to do a few tests.
This time the stomach ache was cripplingly bad.
