Bananas tomatoes pineapple Bergen bread etc

I'd be more concerned about the long term problems with a diet high in fat and consisting of a lot of meat or dairy. This is a concern in the general population, and not just for those with diabetes. I think all fruits and veggies are okay if you take BG and GI levels into consideration, although as it has been pointed out, everyone is different. Here is an interesting link to a study (vegans/non vegans): http://m.care.diabetesjournals.org/content/29/8/1777.full
Hope I posted the right study!

@linmartin
I would be more concerned with a diet which could cause shortages of essential or harder to synthesise nutrients, we are omnivores after all! So I would (and have) exist on a vegetarian diet but not vegan long term, but each to their own!
