So, I’ve been having a rough few days with the bloods and spoke to the diabetes team yesterday and confirmed it’s looking like basal issues! I’m usually 8 units in the morning of Tresiba but for the last week (since starting new box Tresiba) have been climbing high through the night and waking to a 14. Yesterday was pretty awful so I’ve increased it but today I cannot get my bloods down no matter how much Novorapid I inject. I’ve no idea how to eat meals today and a bit weepy as I’m so tired with the high alarms and corrections. I’ve been to the chemist but they are out of Tresiba and have put in an emergency request but if I can’t get it today they are closed until Tuesday. Does this look like the Tresiba has gone off? I’m usually in range and have pretty good control but am menopausal IMG_1803.jpg

Given the timing, it could be that the Tresiba has gone off. Maybe try ringing 111, and asking for an emergency supply. It could also be any of the other things that affect bg control such as a bug, stress etc. Are you checking bg's with a finger prick test, as CGM's typically show higher than actual levels when over 10. How are your levels now?

Thanks, called 111 and waiting for someone to call back with a prescription hopefully. Bloods are ok now thanks, lots of walking, novorapid, wee bits of salmon and fish, nuts and a glass of wine (out for someone’s birthday lunch aargh)

Hi @JMoli Hope you managed to get your insulin.

Thanks, turns out it was a really really bad cold (and needing to up my basal I think anyway) Funny how the body knows we are unwell before we do
I’ve not had such a stinker since diagnosis and can’t seem to get bloods under control, insulin is like water just now but hoping I turn a corner soon. Would be nice to be able to comfort eat just now!

Sorry to hear that, hope you feel better soon.
Have you done a Covid test, just to rule that out?
Illness usually pushes up our insulin requirements a lot, and the higher our bloods go, the more it takes to bring them under control, just when we can't be bothered thinking of diabetes!! Were you given sick day rules by your team or when you did DAFNE?

Thanks, did a covid test and checking ketones. My bloods have never been this bad even when I had covid, it’s a shocker of a cold though. Think coincided with higher basal needs too, bad timing, and I’m the week before my period but feel marginally less awful than yesterday so heyho! I seem to be giving myself 2-3 units of novorapid every couple of hours and have abandoned any thoughts of actually eating a real meal! The joys
