Many of us on MDI find the only way to beat DP is to catch it just before it starts with a correction bolus. Are there recommendations for catching/ stopping DP? Would I have to wake myself up every couple of hours to test?
I'm getting so tired of waking up and feeling awful! I went to bed at 5.3 last night and woke up at 18.0 this morning ! :<
What that may mean though, is waking up anywhere between 0200-0800 and taking a bolus to compensate. For me, it's just too much work... It's okay when I'm away at work, as I start at 6am and can normally catch it whilst I'm still in range. On my time off, if I wake any later than 0800 or 0900 I'm 11mmol/l+. With a good long lie I can make 18mmol/l.
@Brunneria has a very interesting thread on various methods to tackle DP. Although not a T1D, the general effects of DP seem to be more or less the same regardless of diabetes type. Hopefully she can post a link here for everyone to see - it's well worth a read. I certainly thought so anyway
