Bcg and type 1

This site has an article about the bcg vaccine and sugar levels. A trial I've been watching for years. For some reason I can't post the link from this site because it looks like spam

Given this is an old, safe vaccine with zero change of any kind of overdose, and no bad side effects, why is it so hard to try this?

I know its no cure, but if it can just take the edgein any more off and level things out a bit, it might actually help me with this 17 years of pain and crippling depression. Doctors and specialists aren't interested in actually trying to help, its frustrating. I've already lost half my life to this, I can't let it ruin any more

Hi @Blakep82 , and welcome to the forum.

Posting links isn't possible in your first few post, but I found those, and I expect you are referring to one of them:

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a hard time with your diabetes. Many of us found that sharing experiences helped with both accepting diabetes and managing it. Perhaps you'd like to tell us what particular issues bother you the most, and someone may have had a similar experience and found something which helped.

I'm pretty sure I had the bcg when I was 11 or 12, (diagnosed at 8) , don't remember it helping but this was pre glucometers so I guess I wouldn't have known....

@Blakep82 I'm so sorry you're having a hard time with your T1. We may or may not be able to help on these boards (I've had lots of help with my T1) but we should at least be able to give you some moral support. And if you let us know which country you live in, we may be able to give you tips on how to persuade your medical team to give you the lastest gear (pumps, cgms etc). Lots of virtual hugs.
